U.S. Federal Agencies Renewable Energy Consumption, August 2003
Federal agencies
consumed the equivalent of 663 GWh of new renewable energy in February,
up from 362 GWh reported last September. PV and solar thermal systems
have increased and include a 750 kW PV system at the Naval Base Coronado
in California. The Coast Guard, Navy, and Army are developing solar
water heating systems in Hawaii, and there are 3,400 federal solar roof
systems, with a goal for 2010 of 20,000 solar roofs. Story at ReFocus:
